Why Did You Do This?

Several reasons: it challenges that classic Jewish tattoo taboo, and more generally an internalized stereotype about what "good Jews" do and look like; it has all the holiday dates listed, so we don't have to keep going to the ultra-orthodox websites to check when Pesach starts; it helps to build the growing American Jewish counter-culture and counter-power; and it is a fund-raiser for future JVP projects.
